What we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

This describes accurately what the software does today, and is published so you can see it. It has not been reviewed against India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 or any other privacy law. It must be reviewed by a qualified professional before SakhiiCircle accepts real members.

What we collect

When you create an account:

  • Your email address, used to sign you in and nothing else
  • A name, if you give one — you can leave it blank
  • A password, stored only as a one-way hash we cannot reverse

Optionally, if you choose to answer:

  • The four onboarding questions about what brought you here and what you are experiencing, used to decide which conversations to show you first
  • A nickname, age range, city or short bio, if you add them

And as you take part: your questions, answers, reactions and reports.

How your identity is protected

This is the part we have built most carefully, so it is worth explaining properly.

Your email address lives in one place, and it is not connected to anything in the community. When your question or answer is shown to anyone, it is served through a separate view of the data that does not contain any reference to your account at all. It is not hidden by the website — the information is genuinely not there to be found.

When you post anonymously, you appear under a label like “Anonymous Fern”. That label is worked out from the conversation and your account together, so you appear as a different name in every conversation. Nobody can gather up your anonymous posts and put them side by side.

Moderators can identify accounts internally where that is genuinely needed — to stop harassment, to act on a safety concern, or to meet a legal obligation.

Artificial intelligence

We do not use AI on this site. Nothing you write is sent to an AI provider, and nothing you write is used to train a model.

Please still avoid putting your full name, address or identity numbers into a question. Questions are read by our moderator and, once approved, by other members — none of whom need those details.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your information to anyone
  • Show advertising based on your health information
  • Reveal an anonymous author's identity to other members
  • Email you anything you did not ask for

Who else can see it

  • Supabase — stores the database and handles sign-in
  • Vercel — runs the website

Your choices

You can change your name and nickname at any time in your profile, choose how you appear each time you post, and ask us to delete your account and everything in it.
